Weekly Group Class

Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00am. Withrow Park (near Danforth)

This class is designed as a time for practitioners and people new to Kung Fu to train and develop their individual practice within a group setting.

Xin Yi Basics: 4 Fists 8 Forms – Si Chuan Ba Shi

The fundamental mechanics of Xin Yi Lui He Quan. 4 forms that each include 2 opposing movements. Based in Yin Yang Theory and represented by the Bear & Eagle.

Xin Yi Animals: The 10 Animals – Shi Da Xing Xin Yi Liu He

Singular forms that are paired into 5 sets and based on the energetic qualities of Yin & Yang:

Snake/Dragon
Bear/Eagle
Horse/Tiger
Swallow/Sparrow Hawk
Chicken/Monkey

Each set is taught in 6 classes – Prerequisites – 4 Fists 8 Forms

Short forms that are characterized by a single animal. Each form is taught in 5 classes – Prerequisites – 4 fists 8 forms, The 10 Animals

Standing Meditation – Zhan Zhuang

Zhan Zhuang Gong is an excellent exercise for those with back pain and weakness in joints. Physically, its basic premise is to create healthy posture by redistributing tension. Once posture becomes established we begin to focus internally by building energetic potential that can be utilized in all aspects of our day. This practice strengthens the sinews (ligaments and tendons) and bones, thus promoting strong circulation of Qi throughout the body.
