Reiki is a Japanese term and can be defined as a miraculous or sacred energy. Reiki is actually two Japanese terms put together.
Rei – literally means mysterious, miraculous, sacred.
Ki – refers to the atmosphere or universal energy.
Through Reiki we can learn to bring balance to the way our body and mind function, allowing us then to become more adaptable and harmonious within our external environment.
My approach to Reiki, in accordance with the Japanese tradition, utilizes acupressure techniques to help release energy blockages within the meridians. Oftentimes, patients find that this style is also highly effective for relaxing tense muscles that have seized up due to injury or stress. With the added benefit of acupressure, Reiki Therapy can then work on healing the relaxed patient more effectively.
Activating better overall circulation of blood and Qi, Reiki Therapy can be used for a wide variety of stressors and illnesses, including but not limited to:
