We filmed this back in January. Me and Antonin Blanc. The final cut came through last week.
With respect to the year that we’ve had, I was initially hesitant about releasing this short film. So much has changed since January. Unexpected challenges, personal checks and balances, I am in a very different place. Yet, I remain pleased with what Antonin and I were able to create with the time that we were allotted.
For this film, I wanted to present a dynamically contrasting narrative. Both dark and light on display – a common concept all too often misunderstood.
For me, it’s not about good or bad. It’s about balance. And right now, as a humanity, we lack balance.
This was the initial inspiration for the film. One side balanced out by the other. Embracing darkness, when it comes, teaches us how to be the light. It reminds us who we are and how to remain of service to others.
