Opportunities in October

Let me be clear, I love this time of year. It’s my fire, it’s my heart, it’s me in my prime. But holy hell, it’s also my madness.

October comes in all sexy smooth and next thing you know, you’re in a chokehold with some shit you already thought you sorted. Back only to show, that in fact, it was not sorted, and here in lies an opportunity for recognition.

Not dismissal, nor justification. A proper recognition of what surfaces, in order to truly release it.

FOR MY STUDENTS:

This is challenging time in year. Seasonal shifts and scheduling demands can be difficult. It’s important to stick with your rhythms.

Bed time rhythms, exercise rhythms, even dietary ones.

Try this (Adjust as needed):

  • Rhythmic wake and sleep times. Make it more or less consistent. Try getting up with the Sun. Be in bed before midnight. Take a 20 min nap after lunch
  • Do your breathing exercises early mornings with the rise of the Sun. The Sun tunes us. Ride the wave of its blossom between 5-7am. Then if you can, pop a few short bursts in here and there throughout the day.
  • For dietary rhythms, I find it more important when I eat, than what I eat. Try this and let me know how you go.

‘Everything in terms of consciousness is rhythmic. Even consciousness itself.’ ~ Someone

Tai Chi, QiGong, Komyo Reiki and Zen Meditation…
Its what keeps me steady. Rhythms in a time of raw vulnerability.

May the Sun and Moon be your reminders.
