Boredom comes easy when stimuli is subtracted.
Slowing down is a challenge. Habits betray, and we find ourselves reaching out for a hit.
When I was young, a hit meant a pull, or a drag, a swig. Drugs & alcohol. These days it means something different. Scrolling, network news, porno, a coffee.
Stillness isn’t easy.
Perhaps this is because stillness isn’t really about stillness. It’s about access.
Such a wild gift of an experience, this life. It’s wack how we’re all duped into trying to see it the same way.
Finding your centre doesn’t come by copying someone else, nor by going fast at it.
Slow and steady like.
Boredom is how I wrote this piece.
